FACI: an efficient solution for the Ministry of Defence - a new 1000 kW block-modular boiler house

Under current conditions, special requirements for energy supply and security apply to Ministry of Defence facilities. They need solutions that combine not only high performance and reliability but also real operational benefits for operation and maintenance. Our FACIRUS plant has completed another project - supplying a 1000 kW block-modular boiler house for the needs of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

The site - comprehensive heat supply for residential and production buildings

The new FACI block-modular boiler house (BMBH) in RAL 7037 is designed to supply heat simultaneously to two facilities with very different purposes: a residential building and a production building. This integrated approach to heat supply from a single unit is the best embodiment of the principles of energy efficiency and optimised operating costs.

Why FACI TT 750 kW?

For this project, the customer chose the FACI TT 750 kW boiler - an industrial model that has earned the trust of companies with special requirements for continuity and quality of heat supply. The main features of this boiler:

1. Horizontal drum fire-tube heat exchanger

FACI horizontal heat exchangers are designed to extract heat efficiently from flue gases through multiple spiral passes around the heat exchanger. Unlike simple solutions where heat is lost "at the outlet", here every kilowatt works for the site, as confirmed by the high efficiency of FACI boilers. Turbulators can optionally be installed, increasing efficiency by another 5–7%.

2. Truly long burning and serviceability

Particular attention has been paid to the grate: we use removable grate bars that are easy to replace when worn. In competing units, grate bars are often integrated directly into the heat exchanger (water-filled), which, if they fail, means practically a major overhaul or complete replacement of the boiler. This design solution in FACI guarantees simplicity and minimal downtime throughout the equipment life cycle.

3. A huge loading chamber

This not only allows long operation without refuelling. The large chamber volume reduces the frequency of maintenance, which is especially important for remote or secured sites.

4. Optimised air supply

The boiler has an air supply system with an adjustable damper - air flows are formed optimally without expensive automation. This not only reduces the total cost of ownership but also simplifies operation and makes the system less sensitive to voltage surges and other emergencies.
