Wood chips are one of the cheapest fuels.

Heating with wood chips is many times cheaper than with other fuels.

That is why FACI FSS wood chip boilers are widely used to heat production and office premises, and are also installed by many heat supply companies to heat municipal and residential buildings.

Thanks to innovations by the FACI engineering team, the FACI FSS wood chip boiler is rightly considered a boiler of the very latest generation.

As part of the upgrade, the boiler base and burner were completely redesigned. The new developments provide much greater control over flame intensity and more flexible temperature control. As a result, we have achieved maximum boiler efficiency with minimum fuel consumption.

The boiler's twin-auger fuel feed now has two independently controlled gearboxes. This allows each auger to be controlled separately and provides maximum protection against fuel ignition in the hopper.

The hopper agitator has also been upgraded to prevent any blockages, ensuring an even fuel feed.

A great deal of work has gone into improving the control panel and controller. Technical specialists will certainly appreciate this when starting up and setting up the boiler.

The main fuel is wood chips to GOST 15815-83 grades Ts-2, Ts-3, GP-1, GP-2, GP-3, PV, and pellets. Wood chips with other characteristics or any other sized biofuel may be used on a trial basis.

Sawdust may be used as an additional fuel for wood chip boilers, in an amount not exceeding 30% of the main fuel volume. A manual "firewood" mode is also provided. At the customer's request the boiler can be fitted with an additional 8.5 m³ vibrating hopper that feeds fuel automatically on a signal from the fuel level sensors in the main day hopper.

For reference: we use a FACI FSS 215 to heat our own plant. Over a season our boiler consumes 500 m³ of wood chips — RUB 368,500 including delivery (11 trucks of 45 m³, 80 km).

A 200 kW LPG tank system would need 54,000 litres a year at RUB 15 per litre, excluding delivery — a total of RUB 810,000. That means savings of 810 000 - 368 500 - RUB 441,500. In other words, this boiler pays for itself in 1.5-2 seasons.
