Block-modular boiler house (BMBH)

Block-modular boiler houses (BMBH) are in demand everywhere, from housing and utilities to the largest industrial sites of various enterprises, including the oil and gas industry. Modular boiler houses generate relatively cheap heat, allowing invested funds and resources to be recovered as quickly as possible. An automated block-modular boiler house is a fully prepared and equipped structure capable of fully automatic operation. Its remote monitoring and control system lets the dispatcher make the necessary adjustments to operation based on incoming data without leaving the office. All automatic boilers installed in a FACI boiler house have a highly functional control panel. It took two years to develop, and the engineers did a really good job: it is very easy to use, both for professionals and beginners The structure can consist of several modules placed side by side. They are not large, so transporting them to the installation site is not a problem.

Technical specifications

  1. Heat output, Gcal/h (MW).
  2. Type of fuel used.
  3. Required mains voltage, V.
  4. Power consumption, kW.
  5. Efficiency.
  6. Water temperature in the heating circuit.
  7. Water temperature in the domestic hot water (DHW) circuit.
Thanks to the automated system, block-modular boiler houses do not require the mandatory presence of technical staff. Changes to the operating process are made automatically, and all information is monitored at the control room. Boiler equipment manufacturers build the following functions into the automatic control unit:
  1. Continuous monitoring of all instruments, sensors and mechanisms.
  2. Direct control of the heating boiler.
  3. Switching operation to the standby circuit if the main one fails.
  4. Automatic shut-off of fuel supply in a pre-emergency situation.
  5. Full control of the power supply of the entire boiler house.
To save fuel, the boilers can be set to several operating modes:
  1. weather-compensated.
  2. for specific days of the week.
  3. "summer" mode.
  4. according to the signal from the thermostat.
Together with FACI Control, the units can operate according to a special algorithm that helps achieve autonomy and extend equipment life while minimising fuel consumption. The FACI Smart app, in turn, simplifies control, which can be done right from a smartphone via the internet. The app fully duplicates the functions of the boiler control panel. The user has no restrictions in operation and can view the unit's history and make the necessary adjustments at any time.

Types of block-modular boiler houses

By heat carrier Block-modular boiler houses can be divided into the following categories:
  • Hot water. The heat carrier is water.
  • Steam. Steam is used as the heat carrier.
  • Combined. Two heat carriers — water and steam.
  • Thermal oil. Thermal oil is used as the heat carrier.
By fuel type:
  • Solid fuel BMBH.
  • Natural gas BMBH.
  • Electric BMBH.
  • BMBH running on liquid diesel fuel or fuel oil.
  • Combined.
By placement block-modular boiler houses can be:
  • Free-standing.
  • Attached to a building.
  • Built into a building.
  • Rooftop.

Advantages of a block-modular boiler house

These are not just boilers but complete solutions assembled at the factory. Once the equipment is delivered to the customer's address, it only needs to be placed on a stable, solid surface. Then the chimney and the heating system are installed and connected. Naturally, this has its advantages.
  1. Low cost. A block-modular boiler house costs much less than a stationary one because no separate permanent building is required.
  2. Manufacturing takes the shortest possible time — on average no more than 90 days. Installation takes two weeks.
  3. Mobility. Equipment ready for operation is housed in transportable modules, so a BMBH can travel considerable distances. On site, only the modules need to be installed and connected to the utilities.
  4. Compact footprint. Since the structure occupies only 1 m², the remaining space can be used to the full benefit of the company and its employees.
  5. The boiler house can be leased as a finished factory product.
  6. The warranty covers the entire package, just like any factory product, rather than individual parts.
  7. High liquidity. In other words, such facilities can be sold or moved to another site.
  8. Almost complete automation of all processes. Once installation, commissioning and start-up are completed,  the BMBH is ready to perform its functions. No additional work is required.
  9. Operation does not require the permanent presence of technical staff.
  10. Independence from climate conditions. All equipment is housed behind walls made of strong, heat-resistant materials. Thanks to their robust enclosure, automatic BMBH can operate all year round.
